I believe it is always better to race for more than yourself! For two reasons: 1) you can help make a difference in someones life, and in this case - it is for our future, it is for the kids 2) when you are suffering during the race, you have that extra motivation to keep you going, because you know every drop of your sweat will have a positive impact. The first and only time I did a 70.3 event, was the IRONMAN South Africa test event in 2004. Now, more than 16 years later, I finally get to race again and it will be at the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Graz, in Austria. The training alone is a serious challenge, due to travel and work commitments making getting the key sessions in quite difficult, but knowing I will wear orange and help the children of South Africa, keeps me going. And knowing you are sacrificing some of your hard earned cash to support me and my cause is also heartwarming and fuel for the engine. Thank you in advance.
