Every child deserves the best possible role models in their formative years. Invariably, this pivotal responsibility falls to their parents, but for many children this isn’t a reality. Good role models take on many guises, often coming from diverse communities. They are pivotal for a healthy, balanced and happy child. From a young age, children need to be taught to dream big and believe in the impossible. And, with this foundation, children are given the biggest gift and that is to dream and inspire throughout their lives. At 36, my dream is to complete my first half Ironman 70.3, and in so doing contribute to the Ironman4Kidz charity. Not every child has a role model in place and I would like to create an example of ‘my impossible’ for my two boys, Judah (4) and Elijah (1) and other children in my community. My children, and especially those of the Ironman4thekidz, need to believe that someone's Dad, as well as the men and women of Ironman4thekidz care deeply, are in their corner, and will fight for, believe, and protect their dreams.
