Personal Message:
Endurance sport has been part of my life for many years. I started with canoeing, where I competed at national level as a junior, and over time my passion evolved into running, cycling and triathlon. I have completed some of South Africa's toughest endurance events, including 7 Fish River Canoe Marathons, 2 Berg River Canoe Marathons, 3 Two Oceans Ultras, 5 Cape Town Marathons and numerous cycling events, as well as both a full-distance Ironman and a 70.3. I have always viewed these challenges as personal tests—of preparation, discipline and the ability to keep going when things get difficult. But this year, I want to put that experience to a different purpose. I will be taking on IRONMAN 70.3 Mossel Bay as an IRONMAN 4 the Kidz Charity Athlete, raising funds for children who need support, care and opportunities that many of us take for granted. I will be contributing personally to the campaign and hope to bring businesses, friends and fellow athletes along with me. My goal is simple: to take something that has given me so much personally and use it to give something back to those who need it most.
